Photography
Photography (or just using a camera at all) adds layers to the design process: how will I arrange my set? Where should I look to for inspiration? You start to ask yourself questions about what you do and why you do it. In a sense, photography can be seen as the most personal form of art. When you start interacting with the world with the express purpose of capturing it, you gain a keener understanding of it and your place within it.
Even just taking candid shots of a setting, untouched from how it was found, allows a photographer to capture the beauty of something unsullied.
